Thrive funds are utilized solely for the objects for which it has been established. Members of the Association have no right to any funds, assets or property of the Association, which is an entity independent of its members. Reports on Thrive funds are presented at its Annual General Meeting and are available for public scrutiny upon request.

Thrive accountability
Thrive will ensure that an accurate and transparent account is kept of all financial transactions. All donors will receive an annual financial report from Thrive’s treasurer, as well as a half-yearly newsletter highlighting Thrive students and their progress.
Who funds Thrive students
Donations from the public are used to fund Thrive students. These may range from lump sum donations or monthly debit orders. While earmarked donations are not encouraged, Thrive may consider receiving funds intended for specific students.
NPO Registration
Thrive is registered with the South African Department of Social Development as a Non-profit Organisation. The NPO registration number is 172-508 NPO.
Tax-deductible donations
Thrive has been approved by the South African Revenue Services for purposes of section 18(1)(a) of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, meaning donations to Thrive will be tax deductible in the hands of donors. Donations made to Thrive are exempt from Donations Tax in terms of section 56(1)(h) of the Income Tax Act.
